M'rajah’s body and biology have been heavily modified, granting him the traits that made him one of the Skulls’ most agile and feared enforcers. Though often kept at range to minimize unnecessary confrontation, when his skills were called upon directly, few ever survived the encounter. Those who did often came to wish they hadn’t.

ㅤCrimson Wraithㅤ

Adrift after the end of the occupation, M'rajah sought out any call for fighters, brigands, or mercenaries he could find. In time, he was taken in by a man named Azadar, who offered him a new purpose among his infamous pirate crew, the Crimson Wraiths. For the moment, this life seems to have sated his appetite for violence… if only for now.

ㅤArms Expertㅤ

Despite his confrontational and aggressive nature, M'rajah is most at peace with a firearm in his hands. A trained sniper, expert marksman, and ruthless close-quarters executioner, his lethality with both magitek and conventional weapons is beyond question to any unfortunate enough to face him in the field. In his downtime, he can often be found at his workbench, tinkering and engineering new modifications for himself. Just be warned—touch his tools without permission, and you might lose a hand.

Possessive Predator

One of the darker consequences of M'rajah’s hybridization was the unexpected shift in his personality. With each new modification, traits from the creatures he had been spliced with grew stronger and began to overlap. At times, he displays extreme animalistic behaviors—resource guarding, sudden aggression, and a ferocious protectiveness over anything he deems his. Approach him with the same caution you would a cornered coeurl.

Centurion Caelis sas Asina was a career officer of the Garlean military, assigned to Castrum Abania during the height of the Empire’s occupation of Gyr Abania. Cold, meticulous, and outwardly composed, he served as both handler and overseer for conscripted soldiers deemed “special assets.” Among them was M’rajah pyr Lupis, whom Caelis personally seized from his tribe and molded into an instrument of imperial violence.Role as Handler
It was Caelis who first led M’rajah from his homeland and brought him to Castrum Abania. There, he became the young conscript’s sole point of contact with the chain of command, relaying orders and ensuring compliance. He oversaw every stage of M’rajah’s modifications, framing each enhancement as a “gift” of the Empire’s favor.With carefully chosen words, he convinced the boy that their assistance with his transition, his augmentations, and his place among the Crania Lupi were all proof of his worth and strength. Yet behind that calculated encouragement lay only manipulation; keeping M’raj dependent on him physically, emotionally, and psychologically. It was the surest way to secure absolute obedience.Abuse and Control
Caelis cultivated a twisted, parasitic relationship with M’rajah under the guise of mentorship and caretaker. Publicly, he presented himself as a guardian and patron, the officer who believed in his subordinate’s potential when others dismissed him, encouraged him to display his own strength, and carefully pruned those who would lead him astray under the guise of protection. Privately, he wielded that trust as a weapon, subjecting M’raj to continuous abuse.Isolation, degradation, and exploitation blurred the lines between handler, captor, twisted lover. He leveraged both his authority and false affection to bend M’raj to his will, conditioning him to equate loyalty with survival, and survival with servitude.Personality and Methods
Caelis was the archetype of an imperial loyalist: calculating, pragmatic, and devoid of remorse. His cruelty was not the result of passion, but of precision. Every act of violence or manipulation was nothing but a tool, chosen deliberately to reinforce control. He spoke softly, rarely raised his voice, and seldom needed to. His power came not from fear alone, but from the illusion of protection he fostered in those under his charge.Legacy and Impact
Though Cealis ultimately vanished with the collapse of Garlean authority in Ala Mhigo; his fate unknown, his shadow lingering in M’raj’s psyche. The Centurion’s years of manipulation and abuse left scars far deeper than any blade or scalpel. In many ways, M’raj’s volatility, predatory instincts, and deep distrust of authority were forged in the crucible of Caelis Asina control.Whether dead or in hiding, the specter of M’raj’s handler remains a ghost he cannot quite shake; an echo of the Empire’s cruelty, and a reminder that not all scars can be seen.
